Coughlin brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality and interiors industries to Serta Simmons Bedding, most recently serving as President and Chief Executive Officer at VE Textiles, a manufacturer of high-performance upholstery fabrics. Prior to that, he spent seven years with Warp & Phil, an industry startup he founded, which was ultimately acquired by Kansas City-based Fabri-Quilt, Inc., in 2015. He also held leadership positions with bedding and drapery fabricator Fabtex, Inc. and former textile manufacturer Richmond Textiles. During his tenure at Richmond Textiles, he grew the organization into a hospitality powerhouse specializing in brand standardized room décor programs.
